Post-partum nutrition

How to properly feed yourself during post-partum?

The first weeks after having a baby - also referred to as the post-partum period - is when the mother is adjusting to a whole new life: giving birth is an amazing and beautiful experience, yet it can also be overwhelming and challenging. During this time, it is important that the new mum feels supported and surrounded, that she eats well and rests often, so that her body can heal quickly and her attention can be focused on her baby. Being informed, anticipating and organizing will help the mother free her mind from any mental load. Nutrition plays an important role during this transition time: eating the right food will give her the strength and energy to go through the day and it will also positively impact the quality of her milk.

This lecture aims to give all the new mother the information and skills they'll need to enter motherhood in a well-prepared and healthy environment, so that the only thing left to do is enjoy this new and wonderful bonding.

Through this lecture, you will learn:

  • Why post-partum care is essential.
  • How to stay energized with simple tips and routine ideas.
  • How to anticipate and get organized for the daily tasks.
  • How nutrition can help you go through the early days of motherhood.

  • How your diet can affect breastmilk.
  • How to develop sustainable practices along the way.

At the end of the session, you will receive:

  • A post-partum x nutrition checklist
  • Delicious recipes handouts
  • Useful resources to complement this course

About Séverine Brochard

Hi! Im Séverine, I am French, based in Germany and the happy mom of a 1-year-old, Yuna.

My interest for nutrition came up few years ago while I was living in Hong Kong and decided to try flexitarianism for a year. I really enjoyed reducing my meat and fish consumption and was excited to try new recipes in the kitchen that would involve more variety, colors and flavors.

Few years later, I followed a course online with the School of Natural Health Sciences on Holistic Nutrition, to educate myself on how to follow a healthy diet. I graduated in 2019 while moving to Germany.

Through ohbabynutrition I became in 2021 a certified holistic nutrition consultant specialized in postpartum and babies with the aim to share my knowledge to new mums!
